Promo Review - The Black Moriah

The Black Moriah was founded by Mad Arab (of Bleed the Son) and Zawicizuz (of Absu, Bleed the Son, Infernal Oak, Rape Pillage and Burn). Later on, Maledon (of Psychiatric Regurgitation), Alkahest (of Aversion to Life, Melora, Runes of the Evening), and Evintis joined in to complete the lineup. Casket Prospects's recording began in the Spring of 2011. Many of the band's influences include Bathory, Kreator, Motorhead, Slayer, Venom, and other kings of the black and thrash genres.

This promo contains three tracks, each just as brutal and assaulting as the last. For only being a promo, you can definitely hear that these guys know what they are doing. The fusion of styles is apparent, with the black metal rhythms to the "thrashtastic" guitar sections and solos. The combination immediately reminds me of a heavier, more primitive Skeletonwitch. I can't wait to see how this album will end up sounding like as a finished product.

I haven't been notified when the exact date will be, but I will be sure to announce that when it is known. The Casket Prophets will aim to be one of the most anticipated albums of next year, at least on my list. Check out the stream below to get a feel for what these guys do.
